This art is for the birds! A street artist by the name of Combo created an awesome open-air art exhibition specifically for pigeons. Not only are the pieces pigeon-sized and placed at the birds’ eye level, they’re each easily recognizable pieces of well-known art that have been altered to reflect a pigeon-centric world. The pigeon version of American Gothic is probably our favourite.

Sea Life by Simon Schrikker
Simon works in thick daubs of oil paint that are slathered on top of each other to evoke the murky, tempestuous depths of the ocean and the tentacle-y tenants that inhabit it. Along with some of their big, bitey friends, Simon creates an eery effect with the oils, appearing to drip off the flesh and truly representative of the alien-like world beneath the waves.

Sydney University Hacks Its Bell Tower To Play The Freaking Game Of Thrones Theme
Yeah, you read right: the goddamn University of Sydney — those smartypantses — rigged their bell tower so it would play the incredible opening theme to Game Of Thrones. This is awesome.
This video was uploaded — and presumably captured — on Friday outside the main hall of the University of Sydney, and the jaunty bells are ringing out in clear, crisp harmony, the theme to Game of Thrones.
C’mon QUT, when can we do something as cool as this? =3
Holy crap this is the most amazing :D
omfg
Now I want to hear all my favourite opening themes played by bell peals

When boys of the Shan tribe undergo the ritual “Poi Sang Long”, the focal point lies in, what in the Western world would be described as, “feminine values”. They are dressed up in bright colours and adorned with make-up. The aim is to mimic the young Prince Siddhartha before he became Lord Buddha. Even though the purpose of the ritual is to show that the boys are on their way to become mature and responsible men, it is loaded with aesthetic values and free from any physical trials. This is what sets it apart from other typical male rituals. By Ken Bamberg
This is visually stunning.

The awesome neon waterfalls are part of an ongoing series entitled Neon Luminance, a collaboration between Sean Lenz and Kristoffer Abildgaard at From the Lenz.
“The duo dropped high-powered Cyalume glow sticks in a variety of colors into various waterfalls in Northern California and then made exposures varying from 30 seconds to 7 minutes to capture the submerged trails of light as the sticks moved through the current. To accomplish some of the more complicated shots they strung several sticks together at once to create different patterns of illumination. For those of you concerned about pollution, the sticks (which are buoyant) were never opened and were collected at the end of each exposure, thus no toxic goo was mixed into the water.”

To celebrate the 38th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang, the government of Vietnam has constructed the world’s largest dragon-shaped bridge over the Han River. Not only is it the steel bridge the largest of its type in the world, but it is covered in over 2,500 LED lights - and it breathes fire!
