Dean doesn’t know whether to be angry at what Bobby said, or think Bobby’s just pumping him full of bullshit, or be flattered beyond belief—because that’s one of the biggest compliments anyone could ever give Dean.

And you can see all three emotions fighting for dominance right there in Jensen’s face.

I will never get over how great an actor Jensen is, how completely he can take on the role of Dean. Just look at that face. Look at it. It dissolves after he hears and processes the words Cas just told him. His face loses all tension and just sags. His head inclines in realization. He doesn’t take his eyes off Cas until he hears his brother come in, and when that happens he has to look away, compose himself, because Sam is here and is face is swimming with emotions.

I can’t look at images like this anymore from this season and not chalk it up to something deeper than a friendship. The closeness, the going-through-my-stuff-and-not-caring, the lack of personal space, emotional chats, openness… Sure, friends do that, but really, I don’t even go through my best friends belongings (let alone their toiletries) without feeling awkward, and I would feel awkward if they just randomly started going through my stuff too (and they never have before) because they are my friends and “uh that was weird…”. If my partner went through my crap though, why would I care? I am more intimate with that person than my family or my friends, so why should their closeness bother me? It doesn’t. Just like Cas doesn’t bother Dean anymore.

Amen to Jensen being a terrific actor. I could go on and on about how amazing he is, and I have, at least, to the point that I’m pretty sure my mom assumes I actually have a colossal crush on him. But I don’t—he’s just such a fabulous actor, and I just have so much respect for him that it comes out in massive waves of crush-like fangirling.

Which is why I have trouble listening to the arguments about how Jensen is totally uncomfortable with the idea of Dean/Cas happening because he doesn’t talk about it. Guys, have you noticed? JENSEN RARELY TALKS ABOUT ANYTHING REGARDING WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE SHOW. HE LETS HIS ACTING SPEAK FOR HIM. He’s never going to get up on stage and talk about how badly Dean wants to bone Cas. But when everything Dean does reads like blatant attraction to Cas? That? That’s Jensen being completely comfortable with the idea of Dean/Cas.

This is exactly what I think. Amen to Jensen being terrific (he is, and he’s gotta be one of my favorite actors ever), amen to him being comfortable with Dean/Cas interactions of all kinds and it showing perfectly through his acting, amen to the romantic way the relationship is being written and acted, amen to all of this, really.
